Nissan is a very popular car brand that many people consider when they’re making plans to buy a car. Officially called Nissan Motor Corporation, Nissan produces a wide variety of automobile vehicles, from small cars to large trucks and SUVs. So, it’s no wonder it’s popular.
What you may not know, though, is that some car manufacturers don’t just produce automobile vehicles but many other things as well. For instance, many car brands sell tractors and other agricultural vehicles.

Does Nissan Make Tractors?
Unfortunately, Nissan isn’t one of the companies that manufacture tractors. It has produced some machinery, but tractors were never one of them. So, if you’re looking for a tractor, you have to look elsewhere.
Luckily, there are still many car manufacturing companies that do make tractors. These include Ford, which is a top-rated and wealthy automotive company.
In addition, plenty of other companies used to make tractors before moving on to cars.
What kind of vehicles does Nissan make?
Nissan produces a wide variety of automobile vehicles. These include sedans, compact cars, SUVs, sports cars, minivans, Kei cars, and light commercial vehicles.
Some of the most popular and common Nissan models include Rogue, Versa, Sentra, Altima, Frontier, and Pathfinder.
What’s more, Nissan also produces trucks, including Nissan Cabstar and Nissan Titan, which have become quite popular in the 2010s.
Nissan sells both smaller and full-size pickup trucks and vehicles that are able to carry a solid amount of weight. This has also made them very reliable.
This company also focuses on battery electric vehicles, fuel-efficient cars, and plug-in hybrids. Nissan is also working on self-driving cars, which might help them compete in the growing market.
In fact, at the beginning of the 2010s, Nissan was the world’s largest producer of electric cars. Nissan’s top-selling electric car lineup, called Nissan LEAF, used to be the number 2 top-selling electric car, just right after Tesla Model 3.
Does Nissan make anything other than automobile vehicles?
In the past, Nissan has had a lot of ventures that didn’t involve the automotive industry. Most notably, Nissan was the creator of the Tu-Ka mobile phone serving. The company sold it to Japan Telecom in 1999, though.
Another past venture of Nissan was building solid rocket motors for orbital launch. In the past, Nissan used to own an aerospace and defense division, but the company sold it to IHI Corporation in 2000.
Currently, Nissan offers a subscription-based line of products for drivers in Japan that range from telematics to other services.
Along with Tohatsu Corp, Nissan also owns Nissan Marine, which produces motors for smaller boats as well as other maritime equipment. However, these products are mostly sold in Asian countries and don’t really make it to the Western market.
So, Nissan does manufacture or contribute to the manufacturing of other products aside from automobile vehicles.
What else does Nissan work on?
Aside from manufacturing automobile vehicles, Nissan also supports and funds various other ventures.
For example, Nissan has a motorsports division called Nismo. Nismo cars have taken part in various competitions, including World Sportscar Championship, All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, and Super GT, among others.
On top of that, from 1987 to 2007, Nissan sponsored the Los Angeles Open golf tournament.
Just like a lot of other companies, Nissan became the naming rights sponsor of various championships, stadiums, and competitions, beginning in 2015.
For example, Nissan sponsors Nissan Stadium in the United States, which is home to the Tennessee Titans and Tennessee State University. It also sponsors Nissan Arena – the home of the Brisbane Bullets basketball team in Brisbane, Australia.
Nissan is also the official sponsor of the UEFA Champions League and Heisman Trophy, making them a popular brand in Europe.
In addition, Nissan has been working on software and information technology development since 2018.
Does Nissan’s parent company make tractors?
Nissan is owned by Groupe Renault, also known as Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. It has been part of this corporation since 1999. Together, this group of car manufacturers produces way more than just automobile vehicles.
Nissan’s parent company, Renault, used to produce tractors under its division called Renault Agriculture. Unfortunately, this division became defunct in 2008, and Renault no longer manufactures tractors and other agricultural vehicles.
With that said, another company that’s part of the Groupe Renault, Mitsubishi, still makes tractors.
Mitsubishi Agricultural Machinery Corporation, founded in 1980, produces agricultural machinery, such as tractors, combine harvesters, rice transplanters, and tillers. This equipment is sold across Asia, Europe, and North America.
The tractors that Mitsubishi produces are rather small but still used across the globe. The same goes for their other agricultural machinery.
With that said, Nissan does have an alliance with some tractor-manufacturing companies.
What other car companies produce tractors?
Even though Nissan doesn’t produce tractors or any other agricultural machinery, plenty of other automotive corporations make tractors that you can look into.
For example, Lamborghini still produces tractors along with other vehicles, such as sports cars. In the same way, Honda also produces tractors, especially lawn tractors, but its selection is slightly smaller than it used to be.
On the other hand, many companies used to make tractors and other heavy machinery but no longer do. For instance, Ford used to produce tractors named Fordson, Ford, and Ford-New Holland. But the company moved on to other ventures.
Similarly, General Motors used to make tractors in the hopes of emulating Ford’s success in this venture. Because of that, General Motors purchased Samson Tractor, an American brand of tractors.
Unfortunately, this division no longer exists, and GM doesn’t produce tractors anymore.
Conclusion
As you can see, Nissan doesn’t produce tractors and hasn’t done so in the past either. So, if you’re in the market for a tractor, you have to look into other companies.
With that said, Mitsubishi, which is part of Groupe Renault along with Nissan, does manufacture tractors and other agricultural equipment. So, you can look into their models to find if it has something you’re looking for.
